USA: A dreamland or a nightmare?

homelessness-america

The beautiful tall buildings, white house, New York a city full of lights and colors of life, the turning yet sharply made gorgeous and attractive bridges, fast moving trains and moving life at the pace of light are the source of attraction for the people living in the third word country where they earn less than $ 2.40per day after working 12 hrs a day. USA is a dreamland for all those who want to earn and support there families thinking that they will earn dollars, enjoy life and will support their families who are waiting and looking them forward.

USA a country having population of above 300 million and still rising at exponential rate doesn’t even own more than half of its own natural resources. In the year 2007, above 37 million people were estimated to live under poverty conditions and this amount has increased by almost 6million since 2000. Recent figures show that USA imported 9.712 millions barrels crude oil per day in June 2009. Moreover there is a big gap between the poor and the rich and this gap is widening at very high rate. The gap exists in case of life expectancy as well because rich people take much more health care and can afford health care plans while poor people don’t even get money to eat three times bread. These are the American nationals since birth who don’t even have money to get three times meal and the third world country nationals who don’t even have normal formal education and they think they would be able to earn more than the expectations and will feed there families in their home countries.

There exists a great discrimination among the different ethnic groups and minorities. This space exists in every aspect of life, from the social acceptance to the income earned per month.” 6.5 percent of foreign born US residents experience poverty versus 11.9 percent of native born residents. This number is particularly high among immigrants who have not naturalized, at 21.3 percent.U.S. Census Bureau, 2008”

A great poem written by “Deep Soul” with the title “The Poor Rich USA”, I would like to share some stanzas with you. If any one interested to read the whole poem, he can ask it from me.

Listen poor people, you must understand.
The poor need to unite and take back this land.
Your enemy isn’t The Nation of Islam or The Klan.
Your enemy is the rich, tall, catholic, man.
We need to go knocking on that White House door.
If you’re anything like me, you can’t take it no more.
While our lives are in reverse and the rich are in drive,
They make millions of dollars, hourly, we get five.

If your bills are paid and you’re doing great,
I hope you understand, its not about player hate.
We know about the coffee, up rises the cream.
Our grievance is the theft, of our American Dream….
