Your facebook profile now with handy privacy setting

facebookFacebook users will be seeing an unfamiliar screen on their facebook home page while signing in. It’s a requirement for updating your settings on newly updated privacy option on facebook.

The newly updated privacy settings for your facebook was officially pre-announced on facebook blog by CEO facebook Mark Zuckerberg last week. These include eliminating regional networks and giving users more coarse control over who can see individual’s content while making some basic profile information available to everyone. Some information–including name, profile picture, gender, current city, networks you belong to, friend lists, and pages you’re a fan of–will be available to everyone.

The only way to keep that information from the general public is to not include it as part of your Facebook profile. The new settings are initially criticized by many of the social networkers, but that seems to be a good move by facebook as tons of questions about privacy of facebook were already in public.
