6- 1967 Porsche 911 Four Door
US Porsche dealer William Dick’s car underwent a 21″ stretch to accommodate a pair of suicide doors at the rear. With a luxurious new leather and walnut interior the result was OK looking, although back then the very idea of a four-door Porsche was simply to weird to contemplate.
5- 1967 Toyota 2000GT
Favourably comparing it to Germany’s finest, Road and Track described this as “one of the most enjoyable and exciting cars we’ve driven”. Unfortunately in the 60s, for largely snobbish reasons, no one in Europe or the US took the threat from Japan seriously and buyers ignored this truly great GT.
